What Information Is Necessary for Creating Licenses?

In order to generate licenses for commercial applications, it is necessary to provide some information that changes from product to product. Below is listed the needed information divided per product.

Product Name Requested Information
PF_RING ZC
  • Network Interface MAC Address (e.g. AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF) and Speed (1G or 10G).
  • PF_RING ZC Version (e.g. 6.0.2.150110 shown by applications such as ‘zcount -h’).
nProbe
  • nProbe Version (e.g. 7.1.150131) and SystemId (e.g. D2AA134E7104A212). They are both shown by ‘probe –version’.
  • The above information is also necessary  to license nProbe plugins.
n2disk and disk2n
  • n2disk Version (e.g. 7.1.150131) and SystemId (e.g. D2AA134E7104A212). They are both shown by ‘n2disk –version’.
ntopng/nEdge
  • ntopng Version (e.g. 1.99.150131) and SystemId (e.g. D2AA134E7104A212).
  • Inside ntopng (unlicensed), click on menu Home, then “About ntopng”. Then click on the URL on the systemId and you will be diverted to the licensing site. Otherwise you can do ‘ntopng –version’ from the command line.

 

nScrub
  • nScrub Version (e.g. 1.0.170503) and SystemId (e.g. D2AA134E7104A212).

 

NOTE:

  • The license cannot be generated if you do not provide all the necessary information.
  • Open source applications (e.g. nDPI) or apps compiled from source (e.g. nProbe) do not require a license.
