This happens when ntopng is offline, it is air-gapped and cannot reach the Internet, or it has been started with the –offline command line option. In this case automatic activation could not take place. When this occurs:
- ntopng displays a notification in the web UI inviting you to activate the license
- An Activation tab becomes available on the License page
To complete the activation manually:
- From any PC with Internet access, go to https://shop.ntop.org/recover_licenses.php
- Copy the activation code
- On the ntopng instance, go to the Activation tab under the License page, paste the activation code into the form, and click Activate.
